Thinking on the nature and character of fire for today’s fire study several songs appeared in my mind. Slow Dancing in a Burning Room – John Mayer and Standing Outside the Fire – Garth Brooks are the two that dominated the pack. I have found the unpredictable and graceful movements of flame hypnotizing. This drawing is an attempt to bring that dance to life, morphing the smooth geometry of flame with human figures in choreographed dance. Perhaps this will become a painting of it’s own in the near future.

Those born in the flame belong in the fire, the glowing energy between two worlds. Dance inside the fire.
